libarchive-extract-perl software package provides generic archive extracting module, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libarchive-extract-perl
libarchive-extract-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libarchive-extract-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libarchive-extract-perl *
You will get with libarchive-extract-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
